Profile: Jon Peddie

Dr. Jon Peddie is one of the pioneers of the graphics industry, and formed Jon Peddie Research (JPR) to provide customer intimate consulting and market forecasting services. Peddie lectures at numerous conferences on topics pertaining to graphics technology and the emerging trends in digital media technology. Recently named one of the most influential analysts, he is frequently quoted in trade and business publications, and contributes articles to numerous publications including as well as appearing on CNN and TechTV. Peddie is also the author of several books including Graphics User Interfaces and Graphics Standards (1992), High Resolution Graphics Display Systems (1994), Multimedia and Graphics Controllers (1994), a contributor to Advances in Modeling, Animation and Rendering(2002), a contributing editor of The Handbook of Visual Display Technology (2012), and a contributor to State of the Art in Computer Graphics, Visualization and Visual Analytics (2012).

Kathleen Maher has worked as an analyst and journalist in technical fields for more than ten years. Ted Pollak has been following the video game industry for over 20 years. The majority of Ted’s career has been in the field of investment management where he has experience with companies such as Wells Capital Management, SDR Capital Management, and Hambrecht & Quist. Jake Richter has been involved in the personal computer industry for over 26 years, in functions ranging from computer sales and repair to game design, software development, and journalism. He founded and then later sold Panacea, Inc., at one time the largest independent graphics display driver developer in the PC business. Jake was also the East Coast Editor for Jon Peddie's PC Graphics Report, and is the author of hundreds of magazine articles and several books on various aspects of graphics, display, gaming, and computer technology. Jake is presently a registered U.S. patent agent residing on the Caribbean island of Bonaire, operates a web hosting company and several e-commerce web sites, and provides technical advice and testimony in patent litigation matters to a wide range of clients. Most importantly, Jake is a gadget and game junkie. As a contributing editor for Jon Peddie Research, Jake provides insights to TechWatch readers on trends and issues in intellectual property, as well as the latest developments in game and entertainment technologies.

Robert Dow is the senior researcher and benchmark analysts at JPR. Afectionetly known by his co-workers as Master Chief he is the COQC (chief of quality control). A former tennis, basketball, and golf star, after a almost fatal accident on the courts where he lost his left leg, he devoted his time to obtaining a degree in history from the University of San Francisco.

Steve Wolfe founded CAD/CAM Publishing, Inc. in 1981to help buyers of CAD and PLM technology make informed decisions. For 22 years, the company’s newsletters Computer Aided Design Report and Product Data Management Report have been referred to as the "Consumer Reports" of CAD and PDM. In 2004, Wolfe received a Lifetime Award from the CAD Society for his publishing work. He currently consults in the fields of CAD/CAM, CAE, and PLM.
