Geometric annual revenue rises 22% to $167.5 million

PLM software and services vendor Geometric Ltd. saw its annual revenue, as expressed in US Dollars, rise 22% year-over-year for fiscal year 2012. The company’s fourth-quarter revenue was up 18.7% year-over-year. For fiscal year 2012, which ended March 31, 2012, US Dollar revenue was $167.5 million. Read more on Geometric on GFXspeak.com

Pockets of economic uncertainty remain, but 2012 is shaping up to be a better year for CAD than 2011. In JPR’s 2012 CAD Report, we put the number of CAD users for 2011 at just over 5 million. That means over 5 million sets of CAD were bought or upgraded in 2011. In 2011 we estimated there were 19.3 million seats of CAD in active use worldwide. Revenues from CAD software will reach $7 billion in 2012.

Confirming weeks of rumors, the two makers of industrial 3D printers will unite under the Stratasys name in an all-stock transaction. The combined company will be worth $1.4 billion. The merged company will have over 260 resellers and 42 direct channel managers, with a presence in 72 countries. The new company will still be called Stratasys.
