HP sees “overwhelming” demand for cut-price TouchPad

A day after announcing plans to ditch its tablet and smart-phone efforts, HP dropped the price of its webOS-powered TouchPad tablet device at the weekend to just US$99.99 and in turn claimed to have witnessed “overwhelming” demand. HP cut the price of its least-expensive TouchPad to just under US$100, from US$499.99.
