Computer graphics chip shipments dive in Q4 ’08 According to Jon Peddie Research

TIBURON, CA-January 29, 2009-Jon Peddie Research (JPR), the industry's research and consulting firm for graphics and multimedia, today announced estimated graphics shipments and supplier market share for the fourth calendar quarter of 2008. GPUs are used in industrial and medical systems, point of sale terminals, kiosks, digital signs, and PCs. And, in the case of over one third of all PCs being shipped today, more than one GPU is being used. Total shipments of GPUs in for Q4’08 was 72.35 million.
