TIBURON, CA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwired – October 02, 2014) – The Virtualize Conference by graphics experts Jon Peddie Research is coming to the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport on October 30, 2014. The first event of its kind, Virtualize will include a tutorial, speakers, panels, and real world information and guidance on Remote Graphics, Remote Workstations and Virtualization.

Today, JPR released a partial list of speakers including experts from, Boeing, Dreamworks, Onlive and VMware who will talk about the ways in which they've made virtualization work in their organizations by extending graphics and workstation resources to the people working both in the trenches and away from the office.

With the support of the leading companies in the business of graphics, computing, and virtualization including AMD, Boxx, Citrix, Dell, Intel, Lenovo, Nvidia, Teradici, and VMware, Virtualize will represent a wide gamut of technologies for accessing and putting remote resources to work.

Virtualize will also showcase leading products for Remote Graphics and Virtualization. Company representatives will be on hand to provide practical information for getting virtualized graphics up and running in organizations both small and large.

The list of distinguished speakers includes:

Shawn Bass of VMware will kick off the conference with an overview of the many options available for remote computing and virtualization implementations. As an independent consultant, Bass has been helping companies take advantage of virtualization technologies for over a decade. He has recently joined VMware to define and lead the company's strategy for VMware Desktop Products.

Kevin Castleman is the lead architect for Virtual Desktop Service at Boeing. He will describe how Boeing takes advantage of these technologies and rolls it out to users.

As the CTO of Dreamworks SKG, Dr. Lincoln Wallen is looking at new technologies that can help Dreamworks manage the intensely complex work of creating beautiful animated features. He will talk about what technologies Dreamworks is using now, and why, and what technologies he sees coming in the future.

Don Gordon, COO, Onlive represents one of the early pioneers of extending demanding workloads to remote users. Onlive now has gaming and business units, which enable people to access applications and games from any device and from any location. He will be talking about recognizing the true ROI of virtualization technology.

Virtualize has a full slate of speakers. To see the complete lineup, visit the Virtualization site. The conference panels will be moderated by a powerhouse lineup of analysts including: Jon Peddie, Bob O'Donnell of Tech Analysis Research, Rob Enderle of the Enderle Group and Nathan Brookwood of Insight 64.

“JPR was asked to perform a survey among professional users to gauge the interest in Remote Graphics and Virtualization technologies. We got very good response to the survey, which is itself a high indication of interest with over 58 percent of the respondents expressing their intention or interest in using virtualization technologies. In addition, the 28 percent who were unsure said they were evaluating remote graphics and virtualization technologies. They said they wanted to learn more about the technology and whether it would work in their operations.

“We realized immediately that there is a real need for a conference like Virtualize,” said Dr. Jon Peddie, the founder and president of Jon Peddie Research.

Registration is open and the agenda is available at Virtualize.
