AMD has introduced their latest FirePro product for workstations, the V9800. The V9800 includes AMD’s Eyefinity technology that enables up to six independent displays. With this board, AMD is pledging allegiance to OpenCL. AMD’s graphics have an edge for the time being with support for DirectX 11. Direct X 11 brings hardware accelerated tessellation and multithreading to take advantage of multiple processors and DirectX 11 includes the DirectCompute environment and the ability to program to the GPU and the CPU to DirectX.
