U.S. Economy Grew at 4% Rate in Q2, Beating Expectations

The United States economy rebounded heartily in the spring after a dismal winter, the Commerce Department reported on Wednesday, growing at an annual rate of 4 percent from April through June.In its initial estimate for the second quarter, the government cited major gains in inventories for private businesses as well as exports and personal consumption spending that added to the growth. Economists, who had been hoping for a full reversal of the first quarter’s decline, were thrilled with the second quarter’s numbers.

Adobe’s first major product line release since Creative Suite 6 cements the company’s commitment to subscription and the cloud. Following several months of private briefings Adobe has announced major upgrades to all 14 of its Creative Cloud products, new mobile apps, and probably most anticipated, the arrival of its hardware products the Ink pen and the Slide ruler. A Dassault Systèmes team virtually reconstructs Mulberry Harbor, the Waco glider and other key innovations. The results will be part of a documentary on PBS. Working from a variety of drawings and artifacts, a team from Dassault Systèmes has used the Catia 3D CAD and other company products to virtually recreate some of the key engineering innovations behind the D-Day Allied invasion of Normandy in World War II.
