TIBURON, CA (February 10, 2025) ─ Jon Peddie Research reports that the global client CPU market expanded for two quarters in a row in Q4’24 and showed strong growth of 5%, and server CPU shipments increased 6% year over year.

Server CPU shipments increased by 6% from the previous quarter and were up 5.5% from the previous year; AMD slipped to 25.2% of the market.

The fourth quarter is typically up compared to the previous quarter. This quarter’s total iGPU shipments, which include all client platforms, jumped 8% from the previous quarter and increased 4% over last year.

“PC CPUs’ growth was accelerated by enthusiasm for the AI PC,” said Dr. Jon Peddie, president of Jon Peddie Research. “The client PC market has now had two consecutive quarters of growth and appears to be following traditional seasonality trends.”
