Hollywood, a concept more than a location?

Filmmaking is now a global business.

Hollywood was once the filmmaking center of the world. Some say it still is; others believe its dominance has passed. Indeed, many associate moviemaking with Tinseltown, but there are other cities and states in the US vying for that position. Locations around the globe are also competing. After all, film production brings in big money. As a result, many countries are investing in state-of-the-art facilities as well as training. So, the question becomes, Can Hollywood still compete, especially when technologies are helping to level the playing field?
