TIBURON, CA—February 1, 2006—Jon Peddie Research
(JPR), the leading research and consulting firm for graphics and multimedia,
today announced estimated graphics shipments and supplier market share
for the forth calendar quarter of 2005 and the total year.
With a winning streak fueled by good products and ATI’s manufacturing
problems, Nvidia soared ahead in Q4 to grab 52% of the discrete desktop
market, and VIA leapt ahead 50% in the integrated space to pick up
24% of the market while Intel slid from 61% to 50% in the same period.
With ATI’s gains in integrated their overall share of the total desktop
market (integrated and discrete) stayed even at 24%, while Nvidia
gained one point growing to 23% and Intel slipped five points to 32%

In the mobile space, integrated parts continued their
growth in market share ending up at 74% in Q4. ATI took one point
away from Nvidia in the overall mobile space while Intel and VIA held
steady. In the mobile integrated segment, ATI grew at Intel’s expense
to 30% against Intel’s decline from 77% to 4%, while all others held
steady.
