Nvidia founder/CEO Jensen Huang will sit down for a fireside chat at Siggraph to discuss how accelerated computing and generative AI are transforming industries. Immediately following, Huang will team up with Meta founder/CEO Mark Zuckerberg as they discuss the future of AI and simulation.
They are two names that are highly recognizable: Jensen Huang and Mark Zuckerberg. And the two industry titans behind those monikers will be holding a joint technology-focused fireside chat at Siggraph 2024 as they delve into the hottest topics of today and ones near and dear to them and their businesses: AI and virtual worlds.
The joint discussion will be held on Monday, July 29, at 4:00 pm MT, on-site at the Denver Convention Center. It will follow an individual fireside chat with Huang, taking place that day at 2:30 pm MT.
This event marks an unprecedented joint public appearance by these two tech innovators: Huang, founder and CEO of GPU maker and AI leader Nvidia, and the other, Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of social media service leviathan Facebook, now called Meta to reflect its focus on the metaverse. Both are highly distinguished tech visionaries.
In the Huang-only session, titled AI and Graphics for the New Computing Revolution, the tech heavyweight will discuss with Wired’s senior writer Lauren Goode the transformative aspects of accelerated computing and generative AI, leading to disruptions in everything from design to manufacturing, as well as innovation and growth. He is expected to examine the impact of robotics and AI in industrial digitization, highlighting autonomous operations and city-scale digital twins as a way to increase efficiency and reduce costs. In a Q&A with Siggraph, Huang teases “some exciting news” from Nvidia that will be revealed during the discussion. Following the chat, he will answer questions from the Siggraph audience.
In the joint session, called AI and the Next Computing Platforms with Jensen Huang and Mark Zuckerberg, the two entrepreneurs are expected to discuss the future of AI and simulation. In a press release, Siggraph states that the two will discuss how fundamental research—like that showcased at the conference—is enabling AI breakthroughs and how generative AI and open source will empower developers and creators. They will also address the role of generative AI in building virtual worlds and virtual worlds for building the next wave of AI and robots.
“It is truly unique to have two noteworthy technology leaders, Jensen Huang and Mark Zuckerberg, come together to discuss fundamental research in AI and virtual worlds. These complex topics not only shape our world but also pose challenges to our industry, and these leaders can influence forward momentum to drive change for the better,” stated Siggraph 2024 Conference Chair Andrés Burbano of the Open University of Catalonia.
