  Ever since NHK proposed the notion of an 8K screen in 1995, there have been discussions about whether one could see it. There’s also been a discussion about what is 8K or what does it even stand for?  Well, 8K is equivalent to 16 HD TV screens. Huh? Well, why isn’t it 16K then? The 8 in 8K refers to the number of scan lines of an HD screen. An HD (i.e., “1K”) screen has 1080 scan lines, everyone knows that.
